With a dark style reminiscent of classic era noirs, "Last Night In Noir" explores the suffocating smoke, strong shadows and striking settings of the genre by incorporating its trademark iconography, voice-over narration, cynical tone and expressionistic cinematography.

• Shot entirely on location in downtown Calgary (near Eau Claire Market)
• A no-budget short; shot in order to be submitted to an online filmmaking competition
• I ended up writing this concept one night, and we filmed it ad-lib the next

I've always been a serious fan of film noir, so not only is this short a tribute to an amazing and important filmmaking style, but it is a short that I thoroughly enjoyed working on as my first film, and hope you can, if nothing else, enjoy it the same!
