I'm still working on getting this page filled with updates on my current endeavours in filmmaking, but for the mean time you can check out a couple films I've created by clicking the Films reel, above.

  • Awesome short film composed of shots of Montreal in the 60’s (i.e. Expo ‘67-era): people, cars, architecture, lights, shapes, and so on. All set to a Pink Floyd track. Very groovy.

  • List of movies currently on the slate to be produced by Fox:

(in no particular order of pure-shittyness)

    • 24 (2012)
    • Die Hard 5 (2012)
    • I, Robot 2 (2012)
    • The Sims (2012)
    • Dragonball 2: Reborn (2011)
    • Jumper 2 (2011)
    • Independence Day 2 (2013)
    • Independence Day 3 (2014)
    • Avatar 2 (2014)
    • Mr & Mrs Jones (2013) [“A married couple who both work as assassins-for-hire find out that they’ve been secretly commissioned to kill each other.”—sounds familiar..]

Personally, I think it’s just crazy they’re even bothering to think about making movies past 2012.

  • Parkour in the 1930s! This is so rad!

  • Interesting little short from the NFB.

  • Some spectacular archival footage of San Francisco streetcars at the turn of the century, set to Air’s incredible La femme d’argent. This makes me want to live in 1905.

Double Indemnity :: Probably my favorite noir, mostly because it has the most elements that fit my personal definition of 'noir.'

Kentucky Fried Movie :: The satire/parody comedy that started it all, in my books. The boom mic gag sequence makes me cry with the laugher without fail :D

Hiroshima mon amour :: This is so right up my alley when it comes to movies; complex, subtle, insightful, difficult yet rewarding, and a formal tour-de-force. More Resnais please!

La Jetée :: This is a monument of film. Its themes of time, memory, history and nostalgia deeply interest me, as do the philosophy and theory behind its main allegory.

Tout va bien :: My favorite Godard film so far; mostly because of its difficulty, colour, politics/opinions, and nuanced Brecthian self-reflexivity :P

Vivre sa vie :: Godard can do no wrong, in my eyes. Love Coutard's cinematography, too.

Avatar :: This actually really impressed me. The sights, colours, and atmospheres are unparalleled, and the rest of the film isn't as bad as I would have guessed.

Sherlock Holmes :: A movie by the numbers. The only acclaim I could give this film is how it will serve as the pedagogical model for formulaic action-fantasy films of the 2000s...

Southland Tales :: Hmm, not really sure what to think of this. There were a few crazy moments of Kelly's nostalgic, ethereal direction, but most of the time just kitsch and rehash

Natural Born Killers :: Very (overly?) stylish with some ridiculous characters and comedy. It sags in the middle but comes back screaming at the finale; very Tarantino-esque.
